Fed cautions on how to interpret results from bank stress tests

If federal regulators determine that a bank needs more capital as a buffer against possible losses under worse-than-expected economic conditions over the next couple of years, that won't impugn its current solvency or viability, the Federal Reserve said in releasing details about the stress tests it has administered to the nation’s 19 largest banks.
